In Italian, when you can’t sleep, you say you spend a night in bianco – in white. But if you are going out for a notte bianca – a white night, that is not bad. The Notte Bianca is a night with bars open until late and gigs and street theater going on all night long. In La Spezia, we alwyas have a Notte Bianca for the San Gieseppe feast.
Saturday, March 19, music and performances in all the city center squares and events planned for all night:
Piazza Ramiro Ginocchio, Piazza Beverini and Piazza Sant’Agostino – Samba Pop from 7 to 10 pm
Youth ensemble of Afro Brazilian percussion. The project Samba Pop was born with the aim of creating a youthful band of street music and the promotion of musical culture among the young. For the Notte Bianca the little musicians will move between the three squares in the center bringing the on the show.
Piazza Cavour – La Spezia Bachata from 9pm: DJ Roberto Cuba Libre, DJs Andrea Bini, animator Nick Versilia, Zumba performance Amber Dagnino.
DJ sessions will start at 9pm, and the dance schools involved will hold a lecture open to all and some local teachers and their dance schools, will perform involving the public.
Piazza Mentana – Hydra from 9.30pm
Rock band from sounds of the 70ies covering the history of rock, ranging from Led Zeppelin’s hits, to those of Deep Purple, The Who, Huriah Heep, The Free, Rod Stewart and Steppenwolf and other rock icons.
Piazza Garibaldi – DJ Nick Spinatelli, DJ Xander Ace, voice David B from 9.30 pm.
Three local bands and their DJs will perform, playing Italian and international hit music from the eighties to the present day.
Piazza del Bastione – Sarah’s choice and Mappo from 10pm.
Sarah Galati is a young singer-songwriter from La Spezia who took part in the international final of the Cantagiro Toscano with his Sarah’s choice group. Mappo is a young multi-instrumentalist from La Spezia, awarded the 2015 Prize Lunezia -section youth.
