Tomorrow, 22nd of May, it will be possible to join a hiking group taking you in the most green part of the Cinque Terre, the Val di Vara. The meeting point is the Brugnato tollboth at 10 am or at the church porch of Taviggio to walk up to the village of Porciorasco.
This is one of the many “ghost villages” of the Val di Vara, which means they are very ancient and uninhabited yet still preserving their everlasting charm. Walking the paths taking to Porciorasco is one of the many beautiful hiking experiences you can make in the area to live the nature at its best.
The village of Porciorasco was founded in the sixteenth century. It preserves the ancient church of San Michele, with a wooden work of art of Genoese school of the eighteenth century, and the villa or Palazzo de Paoli, between 700 and 800 here was developed a dense network of exchanges, economic activities between the family De Paoli, the peasants and artisans of the valleys.
In Porciorasco, it will be possible to taste some local specialties and when going back, the trail will stop in the beautiful village of Varese Ligure.
